We join with the Spitfire Association and say 'thank you' to WOFF Charles Clement Jones for his service as we extend our condolences to his family and friends. Clem Jones passed away peacefully on 11 September 2024, aged 103 years old.

Clem enlisted in 1942, completing his training in Temora and then Canada, before being posted to an Operational Training Unit (OTU) in England.

Details of Clem's wartime service is featured on the Spitfire Association website at: https://www.spitfireassociation.com/single_crew.php?bio_id=JONES-Charles-Clement.

You can hear more of Clem’s story in the Temora Aviation Museum ‘Unsung Heroes’ video story at: https://unsungheroesaustralia.com.au/unsung-heroes/clem_jones and hear of his love of the Spitfire, when he was interviewed by Scott Bevan for the ‘Touch the Sky’ documentary (produced for the Royal Australian Air Force) at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pk0q9NwC3E.

The Spitfire Association carries the spirit forward of Spitfire pilots, like Clem, and this great aeroplane to this day through the Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship: https://www.spitfireassociation.com/smdf.php

Clem, thank you for your service.

Lest We Forget.
